Welcome to our blog, where we share news related to Sylius and post about technology & eCommerce.
I want to keep the community up-to-date with weekly progress we're making together.
This update is a bit special, not only because it is the first article, but it will also cover the last two weeks. Some remarkable events took place and I simply did not have a place to post them, except the Sylius account on Twitter.
You can read two separate summaries...
I'm very happy to get positive feedback and greatly appreciate the contributions they've made during the event!
Just in time before the hackday, all bundles and main application have been updated to use Symfony 2.3. It wasn't only a simple vendors update, but it introduced several new features and greatly simplified overriding Sylius models.
A detailed summary of this upgrade is available as a separate blog post.
Documentation received a dose of updates, but still requires tremendous amount of work.
More work on the docs will happen during the coming weekend. This includes the Contributing Guide, as promised.
I started the very important RFC about reorganization of the repositories on GitHub. The goal is to simplify the development process and make it easier to contribute. If you have an opinion about the two solutions I proposed, please share it on GitHub or in the comments section below.
I hope you enjoyed this short overview. Another series planned for this blog is "Community Spotlight" and you should already be familiar with the idea, borrowed from other open source projects.
Next week we will focus on the documentation and the payments integration, stay tuned!Tweet
